Returning/Departing All B1G OL Listed
/ Was slightly surprised on how these scores shook out. Some teams received scores much higher than I would think (RUT, MARY). Teams that I thought had awesome run games (MSU & Minn.) may have been more a product of rely heavily on explosive plays/quantity over quality.
/Nebraska, with an OL that was nothing to write home about in '21, ranked Top 4 in conference. They were more balanced in their play call selection than many other teams in '21. Scrambling QB helps.
/ The Top 3 - Michigan, OSU, Wisco - all check out on '21 eye test and I would expect that in '22 these will be Top 3 teams again. All bring back some studs on OL and returning proven RBs.
/ What can you say about PSU/Iowa in '21? As bad as everyone thought their run game was, how inept it looked etc., this score would indicate that it worse than what the eyes saw. Iowa will get some dudes back from injury but replace 2 Best '21 OL. "Can't get any worse".
/ The score weights Stuff Rate (.2) and Success Rate/PPA (.4). Score is normalized to adjust for all D-1 teams. Quick and interesting way of trying to evaluate/forecast run games for '22. I know All B1G fluctuate frequently and many OL will make B1G teams for 1st time in '22.
