Injuries to consider when betting BIG10 games this weekend
Jakorian & Kenny Bennett (Maryland CBs) @ Minnesota - PROBABLE
No clue if these starting cornerbacks are related or not but I got a good feeling that the Terrapins having them back in the lineup after sitting out the last game @ Ohio State should improve Maryland's secondary. Both were last minute scratches against the Buckeyes and there might not be a worst team to face in the conference down your starting cornerbacks - these two will be focused on shutting down WR Chris Autman-Bell and an improving Minnesota passing game. Maryland's last two games have been humiliating defeats and they lost a couple of key players along the way (WRs Dontay Demus & Jeshaun Jones). However, coming off a bye I think the Terps are able to do enough against a much more evenly matched opponent and cover the spreads. Terps +5.5.
Sean Clifford (Penn State QB) vs Illinois - DOUBTFUL
Word from State College is Clifford's rib injury is serious - likely to keep him out of the Illinois game. Even if he could go, the Nittany Lions should have enough to get the W without him and can give him another week's rest before a big showdown @ Ohio State. Whether it is Ta'Quan Roberson or Christian Veiluex who get the nod in Clifford's absence, both should have had enough reps over the last two weeks (coming off a Bye Week) and PSU OC Mike Yurcich should have a solid game plan for either as Penn State still has elite playmakers on the outside and talent in the backfield. I like PSU to score enough points combined with a dominating performance by their defense to cover the large number.
